background on story The idea behind this is that the fairy in the jar is trapped until the first snowfall. Since the snow has just fallen and is surrounding her, she is in the process of being released. Hence the glowing. 
I wanted to do a polar bear hovering in there with her, but that seemed a little too much. XD
The background picture is actually an outdoor lantern. It snowed for the first time this year today.
